Our Expertise

Tanlake Farms is now a well established company specialising in Electronic Flowmetering for Agriculture and Industry.

Flowmeters are used extensively in the agricultural industry to accurately measure the amount of slurry applied to farmland.

When Nitrogen values of slurry have been established a quick calculation will ascertain the application rate to any individual field enabling the maximum benefit to be obtained. This information i.e. flow rate and volume can be calculated into the acreage covered.

The data can be calculated either manually or through an in-cab tractor display and the results can either be printed or downloaded onto a lap top computer using a standard Microsoft Word programme.

Our History

Tanlake Farms (Flowmetering) was established late in 2006 by John Burnham. He had previously been a Director of Tanlake Farm & Machinery Ltd since the business was formed by him and Chris in 1995. As the Flowmetering part of the Company had become so specialised, it was decided to separate it entirely, but for the two businesses to work together when necessary.

Over the past 14 years a great deal of experience has been gained in applying the Flowmetering technology to agriculture.

As time has gone on and legislation has become more stringent, the need for accountability has become increasingly important and essential to Contractors and Farmers alike. In order to gain the maximum benefits from using slurry as a fertiliser, but at the same time preventing pollution incidents, it is necessary to keep accurate and meaningful records. One of the ways of maintaining these records is to be sure of the amounts of materials spread onto land which makes Flowmetering an essential tool.

In order to maintain an ongoing improvement to the service provided, John has established strong links with the manufacturers and has in place technical back-up and support to provide the best possible advice. It is his intention in the future to maintain close customer links at the same time as giving a personal and timely service. Customer feedback will be encouraged so that manufacturers can be kept informed of the day to day requirements and the demands being put on their equipment.
